Vacancy

Katie Shannon
20/01 – 02/03/2024
Open Saturday 1-5 pm

Celine is pleased to present Vacancy by Katie Shannon. Referencing live performances, which foreground friendship alliances and often employ handmade fetishistic couture, Shannon presents a selection of garments and works on paper which suggest filmic moments and framings. Together, these artefacts evoke a state of energetic melancholia, countering ennui and loss with collaboration and shared experiences of sensuality and excess.

Katie Shannon’s recent works include TLC23PEDESTRIANFETISHAGM2023 a collaborative durational performance at Artists Self-Publishers Fair 8, Conway Hall, London, The Artist Bar, research project and performance at the Horse Hospital London, Sicko fanart for Finlay Clark, tlc23 collective action Fet Miasma Mis at Le Bourgeois, Catford, Rebi programmed event at Cafe Oto, soundtracking Liquid Currency at Kunstverein Dortmund and hardcore til i die solo show at Kunsthalle Ost, Leipzig. She co-runs record labels and gig series Domestic Exile, So Low and Rebi and performs with band Kübler-Ross . Current curatorial outputs include tlc23, a weaponised collective initiated with Keira Fox, and occasional events and exhibitions series produced with France-Lise McGurn.

There will be a closing party at Exit to celebrate the end of the exhibition Vacancy by Katie Shannon on Saturday, March 2nd. Event details here.
